Foundation Introduction
The Beijing Sunshine Charity Foundation is one of the largest charitable organizations in China focusing on medical and health services. It originated from the Sunshine Bone Marrow Bank established in 2002 and the Peking University Sunshine Volunteer Association. In 2009, it was registered as a foundation at the Beijing Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau and was transformed into a public foundation in 2013. In the 2020 social organization assessment, Sunshine Charity was rated as a 5A-level (the highest level) social organization.
Sunshine Charity owns the only non-governmental bone marrow bank in China. It is the first non-governmental public welfare organization in China to fund medical research. It has established the world’s largest hospital-based school system and provides comprehensive empowerment support for non-governmental public welfare organizations, especially medical organizations. Sunshine Charity is a member of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and is the first public welfare organization in China to sign a cooperation agreement with the headquarters of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Joint Public Welfare Project Officer (Based in Beijing)
Job Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for project management, financial management, and fundraising support for project partners in the Joint Public Welfare Department, as well as partner community maintenance and service.
- Be responsible for the whole process of project establishment, implementation, communication and fundraising, information disclosure, grant coordination, project closure, file management, evaluation visits, consultation and answering questions.
- Assist the department in cultivating and enhancing the organizational management, project implementation, and communication and fundraising capabilities of public welfare project partners.
- Assist in expanding and maintaining good cooperative relationships with projects, project partners, and relevant partners, and seek cooperation opportunities.
- Be responsible for the development and implementation of new projects in the Joint Public Welfare Department, including but not limited to preliminary research, writing project proposals, formulating budgets, and other preparatory work.
- Assist in the development and integration of project cooperation resources.
- Complete other tasks assigned by superiors.
Qualifications:
- Passionate about and committed to the public welfare and charity industry, with a high degree of recognition of the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
- Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in sociology, anthropology, management, public health, etc.; those with work experience in the medical field or public welfare and charity organizations are preferred.
- Those with experiences in social worker training, organization incubation and cultivation, internships in public welfare and charity organizations, or management of university public welfare clubs are preferred.
- Have good teamwork awareness and communication skills, strong sense of responsibility, and strong execution ability.
- Proficient in using Office software and typesetting design software.
- Be willing to communicate with people, with good oral and written expression abilities.
- Be eager to learn and share new knowledge and experiences.
Patient Service Project Officer (Based in Beijing)
Job Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for answering patient assistance inquiries in the foundation’s patient assistance projects, as well as organizing and reviewing patient information, invoice verification, grant disbursement, project feedback, and ledger registration.
- Be responsible for timely communication and coordination with funders and collaborators (including but not limited to hospitals) during project implementation.
- Be responsible for conducting disease-specific research and resource sorting according to the needs of funders and collaborators (including but not limited to hospitals).
- Plan and arrange resource expansion work in Beijing hospitals, and communicate and promote the foundation’s projects to medical staff.
- Be responsible for establishing cooperative relationships with government medical insurance departments and insurance company claims departments to further improve the economic assistance system.
- Be responsible for initiating online assistance on platforms such as Tencent for patients who meet the assistance criteria, timely following up, providing feedback, and registering.
- Assist superiors in completing other project affairs of the foundation.
Qualifications:
- Identify with the foundation’s purpose, mission, and values, and be willing to devote to the public welfare industry.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in social work, medicine, insurance, etc., with internship experience in public welfare activities or NGOs preferred.
- Have a strong sense of responsibility, a strong service spirit, and strong execution ability.
- Have relatively strong learning ability, good at summarizing and innovating.
- Have relatively strong communication skills, good at communicating and cooperating well with team members and external personnel.
