One of the practical issues faced by many patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is how to accept their illness, return to their daily work and family life, rebuild social relationships with family members, friends, and colleagues, and establish a new normal in life.

To address this, Sunshine Charity organized the compilation of the “Guidance on Reintegrating into Society for Adults with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia” (hereinafter referred to as the “Manual”). The patient group’s needs were determined through questionnaires, and follow-up visits were carried out based on the patients’ responses to the questionnaires.

The manual is divided into four chapters: daily care, employment, intimate relationships, and mental health. Starting from the practical problems that patients face when returning to society, experts from various fields such as clinical doctors, human resource managers, psychological counselors, and social workers were invited to answer specific questions that patients may encounter when returning to work and society.

Sunshine Charity interspersed patient stories and experiences among the expert opinions, presenting feasible experiences to patients in a vivid form.
